Introduction
I'm from Fairmont WV and I am the Certification Officer at Fairmont State University for the School of Education. I hope that from this class I will come away with more of an understanding of how to use social networks, the computer in general and how it all applies to education. Being literate used to mean that you could read. In todays world, I think that being literate applies more to being able to communicate. Excellent video! I'm going to share it with 2201 students next semester! You are right that literacy is more about communication in general and being able to accomplish one's purpose in the world. The high rates are print illiteracy is a major concern especially in West Virginia! The video mentioned most people don't think school are preparing students with literacy skills for the 21st century. What do you think?
